The first Match Bar outside Europe is a 6000sq ft bar and restaurant which occupies a first floor corner opposite the classical edifice of the State Library and mixes local influences and street art with recognisable elements of the London Match Bars such as the vintage Scandinavian furniture, Murano glass chandelier, and retro lighting shipped from London to maintain the brand identity. Match Bar & Grill was voted Best New Bar in the 2009 Australian Bar Awards.
